VIKING gardening tools for SOS Children's Villages

Gardening power tool manufacturer VIKING has been a partner of SOS Children’s Villages Austria since 2005. Owing to the current need for gardening power tools at the SOS Children's Villages in Austria, VIKING has this year decided to provide the appropriate, much needed support. It is not only children and teenagers who are cared for in the SOS Children's Villages, the parks and gardens also need to be looked after. The procurement of lawn mowers, ride-on mowers, garden shredders and other gardening tools is therefore always an urgent priority.

In recent weeks, VIKING provided the SOS Children's Villages with the necessary garden tools. VIKING is a member of the STIHL Group, whose Austrian sales company is also involved in this initiative, consequently, STIHL branded machines were also donated. VIKING, based in Langkampfen, Austria, produces and sells lawn mowers as well as other garden power tools.

SOS Children’s Villages is a private, religiously and politically independent, globally operating social welfare organisation, which was founded in 1949 by Hermann Gmeiner in Innsbruck. The first SOS Children's Village was created in Imst, Tyrol, in the same year. More than six decades later, SOS Children’s Villages caters to the needs of more than 6,000 children, teenagers and adults from particularly vulnerable families: 1,558 children, teenagers and young adults through long-term offerings (SOS Children’s villages/families, juvenile accommodation, refugee projects, aftercare centres) and 4,689 people through short and medium-term family support and day care programmes (children’s residential groups/refuges, kindergartens, work projects, advice centres, day care centres) – always with the same objective in mind: to ensure a stable and loving home for children and teenagers.

The photos show two of the garden power tool presentations at the various SOS Children’s Villages in Austria, one at the SOS Children’s Village in Nussdorf/Debant in Eastern Tyrol and the other at the SOS Children’s Village in Moosburg in Carinthia. One mulching mower from the new VIKING MB 4 R series went to each of the Villages.
