Innovative new extension creates 150 new jobs
STIHL Tirol GmbH yet again continued its positive economic development in 2018. With an overall turnover of 385.7 million euros, it achieved the best results ever in the history of the company, despite extreme and long-lasting dry spells in spring 2018, which had a significant impact on both its European core market and its growth. A total of 558 members of staff were employed at the site in Langkampfen last year. This increase also means that STIHL Tirol has reached its highest number of employees to date. In building the new extension, the company was able to create an additional 150 new jobs. The company's balance sheet total also increased in 2018, reaching an impressive 313 million euros, and the equity capital increased to 182.2 million euros with an equity ratio of 41 percent.
By investing in the extension, STIHL Tirol is continuing to grow and maintaining its trend of positive development. The STIHL Group operates with an international sales perspective. According to Clemens Schaller, managing director of STIHL Tirol GmbH: "Our new extension has helped us take an important step in this direction. The Langkampfen location stands out as a centre of excellence and production site with a wealth of experience. We want to continue to strengthen our position in the future."

The extension as a driving force for innovation
The opening of the 20,000m² extension at the beginning of February 2019 is another statement for the future. The roof of the new building is a special highlight featuring a 3,000m² product testing area, as is the fully automated small parts warehouse where 17 robots store and stack 47,000 containers.
150 new jobs and future-oriented apprenticeships
The large number of new jobs at the company site in Langkampfen is great news. A new apprentice workshop has been built for young professionals and the company was once again awarded the title "outstanding apprenticeship provider in Tyrol" (ausgezeichneter Tiroler Lehrbetrieb).
Outstanding energy efficiency
The Tyrolean garden equipment manufacturer places great value on a proactive environmental policy and sustainability strategies. The entire production facility is geared around energy efficiency and the switch to LED lighting has already been implemented in numerous departments.
